San Jose del Pacifico is a magical place known for its powerful healing properties. We had the opportunity to experience one of its traditional practices, a temazcal, guided by Navarro, an iconic figure in the town. For those unfamiliar, a temazcal is a traditional sweat lodge that helps cleanse the mind, body, and spirit. After the session, we felt rejuvenated, as if we were reborn. The whole experience was truly blissful, and it was made even better by our stay at Cabanas Puesta del Sol. Each cabana at this place comes with its own camin, and the crew is always ready to set it up for you whenever you prefer. In addition, there is a 24/7 reception area where you can find a small shop stocked with beverages and snacks. If you're feeling peckish or in need of a drink, you won't have to go far. Moreover, they also offer a breakfast service, ensuring that you start your day off right. The serene atmosphere of the cabanas added to the overall healing and relaxation that we experienced during our time in San Jose del Pacifico. It was truly an unforgettable journey of self-discovery and rejuvenation.
Mazunte we are coming...
After enjoying a marvelous time in San Jose, we embarked on a journey to Mazunte. The word "Mazunte" itself signifies a thrilling 4 and a half hour drive in a minivan. The drivers navigate through the small, winding roads at a speed that can only be described as fast and dangerous. With each turn of the serpentine road, adrenaline rushes through our veins. The breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape whiz by in a blur as we hold on tight to our seats. As the minivan maneuvers through the narrow paths, we can't help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension. While the ride may be nerve-wracking, it adds an element of adventure to our journey, making every moment unforgettable.
After a long and tiring journey of over four hours, we finally reached Mazunte. As we stepped out of the van, the scorching heat of the sun immediately hit us in the face. Coming from the relatively chilly San Jose, the sudden surge in temperature felt even more intense. The rays of the sun seemed to be relentless, enveloping us in a blanket of warmth. Beads of sweat formed on our foreheads and trickled down our backs, reminding us of the tropical climate we had entered. The air felt thick and heavy, making it hard to catch our breath. Despite the discomfort, there was an undeniable excitement in the air. We were ready to embrace the vibrant energy and beauty of Mazunte, even if it meant enduring the relentless heat.

After immersing ourselves in days of pure relaxation and fun at the beach, we reluctantly bid farewell to Oaxaca and returned to Mexico City. Although a tinge of sadness lingers within us, we are immensely grateful for the incredible times we experienced in this vibrant region of Mexico. The warm sun, azure waters, and gentle ocean breeze will forever remain etched in our memories. Oaxaca's rich culture and breathtaking landscapes captivated our hearts, leaving us yearning for more. As we say goodbye to this enchanting destination, we eagerly anticipate our next adventure, eagerly awaiting the thrill of discovering new places and creating cherished memories.
